Karnataka Jesus Youth Annual Report

Mandya Core team formation took place in August with Joel as the new coordinator.

7 days LLP for Nurses took place in Snehadan, Bangalore from Oct. 22nd to Oct 30th. 25 Nurses.

Central Sub regional LTP took place on Nov 10th to 12th in Shimoga. 18 participants.

Growth retreat took place in Belgaum from Nov. 12th to 14th. Simultaneously, a new core team was formed in Belgaum with Reshma as the new coordinator.

Three days LTP took place in Hassan with 25 participants and a new team was formed in Hassan with Benson as the coordinator.

Karnataka was blessed with New Intercession team in Decemeber before with Teresa as the new coordinator.

Prolife exhibition was arranged in Sirsi on Nov. 11th and a two days retreat was arranged for Campus students of JMJ college, Sirsi.

A family growth retreat' Passionately Yours' and family gathering took place in Bangalore on Oct. and Nov. 2012

A growth retreat was arranged for all the ministry core teams and prayer group leaders of Bangalore in Novemeber.

Two days Mangalore Leaders Gathering took place in Mangalore followed by Mangalore JY Service team reconstitution. Dexter is the new coordinator.

Intercession retreat happened in Bangalore November 23 to 25

Faith Conference took place from 25th to 27th of January in Bangalore. More tan 700 participants gathered in this platform to Live, Know and Share Faith across Karnataka.

Bangalore Christmas Gathering took place on December 9th. It was a moment of Family atmosphere and a perfect gathering with lots of meaning for Christmas.

Christmas Celebrations in Mangalore, Belgaum, Mysore and Sirsi took place in Bangalore

Family Retreat took place in Bangalore from 2nd November to 2nd December.

BLOSSOM, a one day program for OCS beneficiaries, benefactors and parents. It was organised on 28th of April in the Philosophy block of Dharmaram, Bangalore. The program took place in five different streams and around 150 participated.

CROSSTOC, a musical concert which brought together around 800 plus youth of Mangalore on 28th of April was well appreciated.

Teens Summer Camp: 6 days Summer camp for Teenagers was well organised by Bangalore Teens ministry to exhibit the vibrancy of Prayer among teenagers. 26 teenagers from various schools and parishes witnessed the camp. Fr Cherian and Fr Dheeraj Sabu were the main resources followed by many senior leaders from Bangalore.

JAM ( Jesus and Me) a 2 day program meant only for native youth of Sullia was held on 13th and 14th of April.

Three days retreat took place in Dharwad in the month of March for 1st,2nd and 3rd year students of Lourdes Hospital. Around 100 students participated.

One day program was organised by Sirsi Jy as an outreach to Haliyal (Karwar diocese) were around 60 native youth participated. Date: March 3rd.

Two day teachers training program took place on 15th and 16th of April in Polibetta, Coorg.

Mysore was blessed by a new core team and a coordinator Sindhu after a 3 day LTP on 19th, 20th and 21st of April in Pushpashrama, Mysore.

Nurses day celebrations took place on May 1st, in most of the places like Bangalore, Davangere, Chitradurga, Mangalore, Dharwad, Belgaum, Mysore etc.

Recommitment day celebrations along with Pentecost day was celebrated all over Karnataka with a day program on 19th of May. The 9 days novena was prayed in most of the common places like St. Anthony’s friary and Yuvavikas, Bangalore, Fatima retreat house and St Anthony's house, Mangalore, St Lourdes convent, Dharwad and so on.....

“Meet Jesus”, a Mangalore Service team initiative took place in 2 streams for migrant and native youth on 28th of April. More than 1100 youth witnessed this mega event.

One day and two days retreats took place in the coastal areas of west sub region.

Two days program was organised by Belgaum Jesus youth as an outreach to the native youth of Belgaum. This event took place in St Anthony's Church, near camp, Belgaum. This was in collaboration with local Bishop and the parish priest of St Anthony's Church.

The JY Formation modules brainstorming sessions took place in Bangalore and Mangalore on 24th March and 14th April, 2013. Manoj Sunny, Shoy Thomas and many National Formation team members were present during these meetings.

Two Jesus youth attended the Karnataka Regional Youth Commission meeting chaired by Most Rev Bishop Henry D'souza on March 17th in KROSS, Bangalore.

Regional level Discipleship Training Program took place from May 28th to June 2nd in Mangalore. This DTP was organised with a vision of building up the prayer meetings in parishes of Karnataka.

Two Campus DTP’s under the name of CROSSROADS was arranged for Campus students of Bangalore from 24th May to 1st June and 21st to 29th June

PIONEERS 2013 a 10 month formation program started in Bangalore. The project aims for the faith formation of Nurses leaders in Bangalore.

BUILDERS 2013 a 10 month formation program started every month in Mangalore.

The Outreach Child Support team have started Vacation English classes for OCS beneficiaries from June.

Jesus Youth Formation: Ministry wise gatherings and first JY household started in Bangalore and Mangalore in June and July, 2013.

School of Disciples, a 7 days Campus Leaders Learning program took place from 26th July till 1st August 2013. Around 20 participants participated from different parts of Karnataka. Month of July was dedicated as Faith Month in Mangalore during which the YouCat classes, Faith Catechetics and Faith related topics were given more importance.

Bangalore Servant Leaders Gathering and reconstitution took place on August 31st to 1st September in Carmel Convent School Hall, Bangalore. Soni Thomas is the new coordinator.

Karnataka Servant Leaders Gathering and KJYT reconstitution took place on 28th and 29th of June, 2013. Around 100 Key leaders gathered together for two days in Rishivana, Mangalore to pray, discern and appoint new team for Jesus Youth Karnataka. Jomichan George is the new coordinator for the 15 membered team. Fr.Francis OSsT (Holy trinity congregation) and Sr.Sophia (DSHJ convent) are the Spiritual director and Animator for the team.

A parish level program and a deanary level program was organised by Jesus Youth in collaboration with the Karwar Diocesan Youth director and Deanary Priests to encounter youth with Jesus. The program targeted around 450 to 500 youth from Bhatkal deanary on 9th of September.

Dharwad core team was formed on June with Carol as the new coordinator.

Volunteers gathering took place in Mandya on July 20th to 23rd as a preparation for the Deanary level program on October 2013. This program aims for the initial God experience for the youth of Mandya deanary. Karnataka Teens Supporting leaders gathering took place on 14th and 15th of September 2013. Around 25 teens leaders gathered to pray, discern and have a clear vision about teens ministry in Karnataka.

The Karnataka Outreach Child Support team was announced in the month of August with Sibiya as the new coordinator.

Around 28 students are getting benefited with the OCS project in Karnataka. So far the project is able to reach places like Bangalore, Tumkur, Kolar, Belthangady, Bidar, Gulbarga, Bellary, Kumta, Karwar, Sirsi, Mangalore, Manipal, Udupi and so on.

Campus retreat in J.M.J.college, Sirsi in the month of October.

Karnataka Campus Meet, a convention which is designed on the theme ‘A Carnival of Faith’ from 1st to 3rd November, 2013. Around 800 to 1000 Campus students from different parts of Karnataka are expected for this Carnival of Faith.
