ICYM Salethur Unit celebrates 72 nd Indian Independence Day

15th August, 2018 : Nithyadhar Youth Movement celebrated 72 nd Indian Independence Day on August 15 th 2018 at Nithyadhar Church premises. The programme commenced with the Holy Eucharistic celebration at 7.30 AM. After the mass the faithful gathered outside the church to hoist Indian Tricolor flag. Benjamin Dsouza Former Ward Gurkar was the guest of honour along with the Parish Priest Rev Fr Henry Dsouza SFX to hoist the tricolor flag. Rev Fr Titus Colaco SFX –Assistant Parish Priest, Felix Veigas Vice President Parish Pastoral Council, Nithesh Dsouza - Animator NYM and Premraj Dsouza – NYM President were the other special invitees.

National Anthem was sung with pride after the hoisting the National flag. Linet Lovely Dsouza proposed the vote of thanks and compered the programme. Laveena Monteiro inspired the gathering with her rousing speech as well as gave us some points to ponder upon. Rev Fr Henry Dsouza addressed the gathering with a few words of importance on being good citizens of our country. Lavisha and team performed a dance to a medley of patriotic songs and everyone appreciated their efforts. The programme concluded with the distribution of sweets.

With regard to 72 nd Indian Independence Day NYM - Salethur unit celebrated 72 nd Indian Independence Day at the Local Anganvadi Centre at 10 am. Rev Fr Henry Dsouza SFX Parish Priest Nithyadhar Church was the special guest of honour , Rita Dsouza, Irene Dsouza – Kolnadu GramaPanchayath Member were the guests for the programme. Rita Dsouza hoisted the National flag. Dr Fiolin Dsouza spoke on the occasion reflecting on the importance of the day. Rev Fr Henry Dsouza SFX addressed the gathering with his message. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and distribution of sweets.
