XXII Chaplains’ Animators’ Training is inaugurated by Bishop Jayarao at Bangalore

CBCI Council for Youth – ICYM conducts Chaplains’ Animators’ Training (CAT) Program for the newly appointed directors as well as animators every year for 10 to 12 days. This year the XXII CAT program was inaugurated by His Excellency Most Rev. Jayarao Polimera, bishop of Eluru at Karnataka Regional Pastoral Centre, Bangalore. At 2.30pm, Bishop Jayarao celebrated the inaugural Eucharist. National Youth Director Fr. Franklin D’Souza welcomed Bishop Jayarao. Fr. Harry SCC Regional Director and Fr. Marie Joseph, Regional Youth Director of Karnataka concelebrated the mass. In the homily his Excellency said that when he was elected as bishop he was the youth director of Warrangal Diocese. Even though he was in various positions he loved the youth mission. He also said that we are called to this ministry with a purpose, especially to work for the broken hearts. Role of a youth animator is to be with youth always.

After the Holy Eucharist, at 3.45 pm inaugural ceremony was conducted. ICYM General Secretary Ms. Mary Jemcy welcomed the dignitaries. His Excellency Most Rev. Jayarao Polimera, Bishop of Eluru was the chief guest for the program. KROSS Director Fr. Peter Brank, Regional Youth Director Fr. Marie Joseph and Regional SCC director Fr. Harry also graced the occasion with their presence. ICYM National Treasurer Ms. Julia Joseph compared the program. National Youth Director Fr. Franklin D’Souza briefed the group regarding the importance of C.A.T Program. He explained the beauty of C.A.T program. He said C.A.T has motivated more than thousand youth animators for last 22 years. Fr. Mari Joseph welcomed the group to the Karnataka Region. Fr. Peter Brank said that we have to ‘love the human beings and use the things’ but tragedy of today is we ‘use human beings and love things’. C.A.T teaches to love the youth ministry. He sincerely appreciated the youth mission being done by Fr. Franklin. He appreciated his enthusiasm and zeal. Bishop in his address said that we have to bloom where we planted and that we should have devotion, dedication, decency and discipline so that finally we achieve dignity. Mr. Cosmos Toppo, National Spokesperson II extended the heartfelt thanks on behalf of the national team to all the dignitaries and delegates for spending their valuable time for the youth ministry.

After the inaugural ceremony at 6:30 pm, all the delegates gathered for the introductory session conducted by Fr. Franklin wherein Father briefed the delegates about the entire 10 day schedule. It was followed by an ice breaking session conducted by Fr. Franklin D’Souza for the delegates to know each other better. All the delegates very actively and enthusiastically participated in the ice breaking session. Fr. Franklin also spoke about the need to build relations in a group for the growth and betterment of the ministry. The session ended with a prayer said by Fr. Anthony Vinay DYD of Hyderabad.
