Karnataka Campus Meet’13

The Karnataka Jesus Youth Campus team organized a regional campus meet for students in Bangalore from the 1st of November to 3rd November 2013 in Christ University, Bangalore. It was a gathering of campus students from various places in Karnataka. This program was organized with the objective of providing a platform for campus students to encounter God’s love in their personal life. There were around 682 participants for the program.

The preparations for this campus meet started months before the gathering. The volunteers prepared both spiritually and logistically. The preparations included training for volunteers, intercession initiatives, mobilization drive and logistical arrangements.

The campus meet was officially inaugurated on 1st November, 2013 at 9am by Fr. Mari Joseph, the youth director on Karnataka Regional Youth Commission; and by Rev. Dr. Fr. Varghese CMI, the Chief Financial Officer of Christ University. The other guest for the inaugural ceremony were Mr. Vincent, animator of Karnataka Jesus Youth team (KJYT), Mr. Jomichan George, coordinator of KJYT, Ms. Jessy Akkara James, coordinator of KJYCT and Mr. Sebastian George, the General Coordinator of Campus Meet’13.

On the first day of the program we had international speakers Dony Peter and George Devassy who spoke to the participants about God’s love. The Mass was celebrated in Syrian rite, at the Dharmaram chapel by Rev. Dr Fr. Thomas C. Mathew, Vice Chancellor of Christ University. The day concluded with celebration of a carnival and the concert organized by the CrossToc.

The second day was based on the theme sin and repentance and we had some noted speakers like Jose Sebastian, Dony Peter, Vandana Maria, Jacob Jose and Alex Njavally. They discussed various topics like Jesus My Savior, Introspection of day-to-day life, Chastity and Inner Healing.

The Holy Mass on the second day was celebrated by Fr. Elias Moses, the Executive Secretary of CCBI Youth Commission. The day concluded with a beautiful Inner Healing adoration that was led by Alex Njavally.

The final day was based on the theme Christian living and the main sessions were delivered by C. C. Joseph. The main sessions were on the theme Holy Spirit – the third person of the Trinity and Evangelization. The Mass was celebrated by Fr. Sandesh from St. Anthony’s Friary, Bangalore. This was followed by the introduction of Jesus Youth – a missionary movement of the church. We also had a panel sharing by the campus students about their experiences. We had also organized various workshops for the participants that were moderated by some senior leaders of the movement.

On the whole it was a time of great blessings for everyone who was present during the program. And for all this we thank God for being among us and blessing each one of us.
