Day – 8: Chaplains’ Animators’ Training Program 2014 at Bangalore

Eighth day of C.A.T began with Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Franklin D’Souza, ICYM National Youth Director. Theme of the day was ‘Pentecost’. Fr. Franklin preached on how youth experience Pentecost during World Youth Day events. He explained his experience of WYD – 2002 Toronto, Canada and 2008 Sydney, Australia. He said that many youth get transformed by such events. Holy Spirit leads our Church. Special anointing prayers were conducted during the mass.

At 9am Captain Jaison Thomas focussed his session on how to manage the stress in Team work. He said that Change your thoughts you can change your world. We have to discover that HERO which is within us. He motivated the group with various motivational videos. At 11am session he dealt on ‘Team leadership habits’, they are; Initiative, Be a visionary, Always be decisive, Be humble, Think Win - Win (Share), Develop endurance power. Fr. Joseph from Belgaum thanked the Captain Jaison Thomas.

Day – 8: Chaplains’ Animators’ Training Program 2014 at Bangalore Back 8th June 2014 : At 3pm Fr. Franklin D’Souza spoke on ‘Youth Spirituality’. He started his session with a group activity i.e., ‘where our interest lies’. He said youth love spirituality and we should never be ashamed to give Jesus to them. Once youth are convinced they will become strong and become achievers. We need to listen to them by giving time. He shared his own personal experiences as a priest for last 15 years.

At 5pm Mr. Colin Calmiano from Bangalore gave a very inspiring session on ‘Goal Setting for leaders’. He said that The importance of setting goals to live a disciple life in today’s world, to help you set goals, to become a purpose driven person. He then explained about the basics of setting goals, the benefits of setting goals, why do we fail in setting goals, the building blocks of setting goals; in which he said that there are four steps in setting goals. They are; create a directory of desires, evaluate the desires, prioritize the desires, write down your goals. Finally he concluded his session with explaining checklist in goal setting.

At 9pm Camp Fire was organised by the participants. It was very relaxing time after hectic eight days of program.
