Loyal D'Souza was unanimously elected as Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) president Udupi diocese for the year 2016-17

Loyal D'Souza from Pamboor parish in Shirva deanery was elected as the president in the annual meeting. The election of new office bearers was held in Don Bosco hall at the Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi. Prior to the elections for the office bearers’ the annual general body meeting was held under the presidentship of Derick Mascarenhas. Director of Udupi diocese Social Service Commission, Fr Reginald Pinto conducted the election & A talk on Gram Panchayath & panchayath Raj was also conducted by him.

Fr Edwin D' Souza, the youth director, administered oath to the new office bearers.

The Chief guest for the occasion Udupi diocese Catholic education society secretary Fr. Lawrence D' Souza who stressed on the need for good leaders in the society, said that youth should use the opportunities and showcase their talents.

Pavithra Menezes, a young Village Accountant, was felicitated on the occasion.

Sr Hilda Mascarenhas & Mr. Walter D' Souza, Diocesan animators and others were present. Former president Derrick Mascarenhas welcomed the gathering while the newly elected president Loyal D' Souza delivered the vote of thanks.
