Health Awareness program in the Prison by ICYM of Shimoga

The ICYM of the diocese of Shimoga had organized a health awareness program of the prisoners at Shimoga on 11 April 2016 in co ordination with the commission for prison ministry of the diocese of Shimoga. The program began with Inter Religious prayer service conducted by Fr. Ronald Veigas. Mr. Gagan welcomed the gathering. The Jail superintendent Dr. Myageri inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp and addressed the jail inmates and thanked the Yuvamitra, the Youth Commission for organising such program. The resource person Dr. Rudresh from Meghan Govt. Hospital explained about the various diseases during summer and rainy season and the precautions one ought to take to prevent sickness. Sr. Juliet from St. Charles Borromeo Convent, Bhadravathi was present for the program. Fr. Ronald Veigas the DYD, Mr. Alwyn the ICYM president and Miss Pearl Lopez, the Regional Rep of YCS and other members of ICYM conducted indoor games for the inmates. Mr. Saiyad a Muslim youth entertained the inmates with Rock singing. Mr. Alwyn delivered the vote of thanks.
