Gulbarga and Bijapur Deanery ICYM Yuva Sammilana at Gulbarga On 9-8-2013

9th August 2013 :
The ICYM Yuva Sammilana of Gulbarga and Bijapur deanery in Gulbarga diocese held on August 9, 2013 at Mother of Divine Grace Church Gulbarga. The youth from five parishes that is Gulbarga, Chittapur, Wadi, Bijapur and Shahbad were present.

The day began with the Eucharist celebration. After the mass the inauguration of the YuvaSammilana commenced. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Rev. Fr. Johnson Gulbarga. The resource persons of the day were Mr. Simon and Miss. Roshika from Bangalore. The other present on the dais were Fr. Victor Anil Vas the Youth Director, Sr. Mercy the Superior of M.C.C. Prof Dyle the diocesan vice president of Gulbarga.

Fr. Johnson introduced the resource persons of the day and asked them to share their life experience as a new catechumen. Miss Roshika who was born in Sr. Lanka shared her personal life. She said that she had faced many challenges and sufferings in her life but she never gave up her faith in Jesus. She underwent so many temptations as a youth but with the help of her prayer she could overcome.

Mr. Simon the husband of Roshika shared his family problems. As a youth he was away from God. But when he did confession in his life for the first time he encountered Jesus in his life and from then he was fully changed. Then onwards he dedicated his life for Jesus and started to proclaim the word of God. Even though they have many difficulties they are able to live a happy life because of Jesus.

After the talk Fr. Victor the Youth Director conducted the quiz on Acts of the Apostles. Three youth from five parishes participated in the competition. The Chittapur parish got the first prize in the quiz.

After the lunch door games competitions were conducted. All the youth participated in the tug of war and the dosing the ball games. After the game bible still competition was conducted and all the ICYM members from five parishes were participated in the competition.

At the end we had concluding ceremony of the Yuva Sammilana. Professor Roy Gulbarga was the chief guest for the programme. After the distribution of the prize he asked the youth to be a witness to Christ. At last the parish priest of Cathedral gave the vote of thanks to all for the success of the Yuva Sammilana. With the prayer song we concluded programme
