KRCBC- Youth Commission 14th Council

23th & 24th August, 2014 : The KRCBC-Youth Commission 14th Council began at 9.45 am on 23 August, 214, in KROSS, Bangalore. Mr. Cyril Prabhu Regional Boy Representative initiated the programme. Sr. Lovely and team conducted the prayer session. Mr. Martin the Regional President welcomed the gathering. The 13th council Meeting Report was read by Ms. Monisha lopes Regional General Secretary. The report was proposed by Fr. Anthony raj DYD of Mysore Diocese and seconded by Mr. Santhosh MIJARC Representative. Then minutes of the RYC-14 organizing committee meeting was read by Ms. Jovita Regional Vice President. After the tea break Fr. Elias CCBI Youth Commission National Secretary explained about the CCBI data collection and why we need that also he explained about how we going to collect, how this application(http//cyo.in/user/sign.in) will work. This application allows us to collect information from the youth (15-35 in age) by just posting the mobile number. Fr. Mari Joseph thanked Fr. Elias Mathew. At 12.00pm annual youth activity reports are presented by the Directors and Coordinators all the diocese and Regional Youth Movements.

After the Lunch break the 3 theme song is played for the council. Then we discussed about the YUVAJANOTSAVA-2014 Time-Table in this discussion Council decided theme for the talk and suggested the Resource Persons, the discussion went on long to finalize the Timetable.

After tea break we continued with RYC-14 Timetable after that we had discussion about the National ICYM awardees from Karnataka Region. Earlier we formed a Committee to look into the formalities for awardees the Committee came out saying 3 qualified male candidates for this award. Ms. Jovita presented profile of three members. There one female candidate Sneha S Joseph from Mandya diocese but she was not fulfilling criteria of awardee so the Council decided to give up her name from list.

Nominees are:-
• Mr. Cyril Prabhu from Bangalore Diocese
• Mr. Jackson Saldhana from Mangalore Diocese
• Mr. Santhosh dsouza from Shimoga Diocese

Ms. Jovita read the highlights and recommendation letters of each nominee. Then we had lot of discussion and arguments for extending 1 more day to nominate a girl. Finally council decided to go with time bound rule, if no one nominated means that there is no one if you give one more day it become kind of Charity. Award has to given in dignified manner because no one, we need not search someone to give. If it there genuine candidate they would have been nominated. Need not blaim any Director if same director nominated male why not female they are not able to find genuine deserving candidate, therefore, the director’s decision has to accepted and we have to proceed with same stand what our Region has for selecting awardees. Then we had voting for male awardees. In first round Mr. Cyril got 7 votes, Mr. Santhosh got 5 votes for and 1 vote for Mr. Jackson. In second round Mr. Cyril got 5 votes and Mr. Santhosh got 8 votes. The council selected Mr. Santhosh for ICYM National Award – 2014.Then we had Rosary at 7.30 pm and dinner at 8.00pm.9.00 pm AYD sharing Moments by Fr. Ronald Veigas and Mr. Sheldon.

Second day 24th August, 2014 Sunday the day started with Holy Eucharist and discussed about Committees and Responsibility for RYC -2014. From 10 am to 4.30 pm with Lunch break whole day was meant for Karnataka Regional Youth Commission Pastoral plan 2015-2017. The resource person of the Day was Fr. Faustine Lobo the director PMS India. The meeting came to end with Tea. Around 5pm.
