NYC Cross Journey Diocese of Puttur

13 Nov, 2016 : The NYC Cross was received to Puttur Diocese from Bhadravathi Diocese on 23 Oct, 2016 at N.R Pura.

The Regional Youth Representative Sanjo Sunil a long with the Shimoga Zonal MCYM Director Fr. John Nellivila and the Parish Priest of N.R Pura Malankara Church Fr. Thomas Kuzhinapurath received NYC Cross from Bhadravathi Diocese. Then NYC Cross was carried to N.R Pura

Church in procession with prayer. Nearly 100 youth and parishmembers were present to receiving ceremony NYC Cross. NYC Cross was placed in N.R Pura parish for one week. parish had every day Evening prayer Rosary and Adoration for a week. Later the Cross was carried to Nellyadi Malankara Church. The youth president Ajeesh, Treasurer Jerrin and Animator and Central MCYM Treasurer Thomas Idayal took the initiative to carry the Cross to various Parishes of Dakshina Kannada Region.

The Cross was carried with due respect and prayer in each parishes through Rosary, Adoration and evening prayer. On 13 Nov, 2016, the NYC Cross was reached to the Cathedral Church Noojibalthila.The Holy Mass and procession of holy cross were conducted.Vicar General Msgr. George Kalayil, Youth Director Fr. Lukose Thaniyil, Proto Vicar Fr. Peter John and Fr. Antony were present. After the procession the NYC Cross was handed over to Belthangady Diocese. Nearly 200 youth and 100 parish members were present for the handing over ceremony.
