ICYM Diocese Central Committee organized Youth Fest - 2014 - Huge success

3rd March, 2014 Udupi : Diocese of Udupi ICYM Central Council organized Youth Fest – 2014 at Milagres College Campus, Kallianpur near here on Sunday, 2nd March, 2014. Prior to the inauguration of the youth fest, Eucharistic mass was held at Mount Rosary Church which concelebrated by Rev Fr. Edwin D’Souza Director of Youth Commission Diocese of Udupi along with Rev Fr. Mari Joseph Director of Youths, Region of Karnataka.

Huge unity rally of diocesan youths held which flagged off by Rev Fr. Mari Joseph from Mount Rosary Church Santhekatte, Kallianpur to Milagres College campus, Kallianpur. As soon as successful youth rally of the diocese inaugural function was held at Milagres College Campus which was inaugurated by Most Mosngr. Fr. Dr. Baptist Menezes , Vicar General of Udupi Diocese. Dr. Nery Cornelo Principal of the Milagres College was the chief guest of the inaugural function. Rev Fr. Fredrick D’souza Director of Kallianpur Deanery ICYM, Rev Fr. Edwin D’Souza, Rev Fr. Mari Joseph, Leslie Aroza Cooordinator of ICYM, Ddiocese of Udupi, Ivan D’Silva President of ICYM, Waylen Machado Secretary of ICYM Diocese of Udupi and other office bearers were present on the dais.

Fr. Baptist Menezes gave his inaugural speech. Dr. Nery Cornelio said that indeed it was Youth Movement Association responsible to development of his talents and leadership during his successful career. He recalled that he was the President of Youth Movement Association at Mount Rosary Church.

Earlier Ivan D’Silva welcomed the gatherings and Waylen Machado proposed vote of thanks. During day long Youth Fest occasion ten beautiful events were organized. Mime, Quiz, Dance, Collage, Singing, Pick & act, Face Painting, Best out of waste, Carving, Face Painting and Rangoli. Large number of youths were participated in various events.

During the occasion Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi Diocese attended in between the Youth Fest along with Very Rev Fr. Stany Lobo Rector of Milagres Cathedral. Bishop called youngsters to give importance to prefer good in order to see success in life. Youths should participate to wipe water from eyes of those who needy.

In the evening Valedictory function of the Youth Fest-2014 was held on the same dais. During the occasion Rev Fr. Fredrick D’Souza presided. Shri Pramod Madwaraj local MLA was the chief guest. He all praise for ICYM members for their remarkable leadership. He declared his support to ICYM all the time.

Rev Fr. Allwyn D’souza former National Director of Youths, New Delhi was the chief guest of honour. Rev Fr. Edwin D’Souza, Rev Fr. Mari Joseph, Ivan D’Silva, Waylen Machado, Lester Pais President of ICYM, Kallianpur Deanery and Leslie Aroza were present on the dais.

Rev Fr. Mari Joseph, Rev Fr. Allwyn D’Souza and Rev Fr. Fredrick D’Souza spoke during the occasion. Donors, well wishers and others were honoured during the occasion. Fr. Alwyn D’Souza said that Youths are always with his heart. He called youths to dream with fantastic time. Passion becomes dream its blends fun. Brian Alphonse and Norbert Misquith were remembered for their outstanding services to Youths of Diocese.

Waylen Machado once again proposed vote of thanks and gratitudes. Fr Edwin D’Souza announced some of the important issues and time table for the next year elections of the central committee as well as units and varado committees.

Meanwhile results of overall champions of YOUTH FEST – 2014 were declared by Rev Fr. Edwin D’Souza. They are ICYM unit of Shirva are the Winners and champions of Youth Fest-2014.

Milagres Cathedral ICYM unit are the Runners Up and Second Champians of Youth Fest-2014

Holy Cross, Pambhoor unit are the Second runners up and Third Champians of Youth Fest – 2014.

Meanwhile prizes and certificates with memento’s were given to individual winners of all events. Whole day programs were compered by Dreema D’Souza of Pius Nagar and Teena Machado of Udyavar unit. The Youth Fest 2014 concluded with singing ICYM hymn.
