9th, February 2014: The ICYM General body of the diocese of Shimoga had gathered for a planning session of DYC. Three office bearers from each parish unit viz parish unit President, Diocesan Male Rep and Female Rep and DEXCO had gathered at Sacred heart Cathedral Presbytery hall. There were 32 delegates from 11 parishes present for this meeting. The deliberations began with invoking Gods blessings with a prayer service.

The Diocesan President welcomed the members. Fr. Ronald Veigas the DYD initiated the meeting with introductory talk explain about the plan of Diocesan Youth Convention and its implementations. The theme, the objectives, the highlights of the program, the activities of the previous year, the budget proposal of DYC and an appeal for financial aid or sponsorship were the topics for discussed.

Various responsibilities were assigned through forming committees. The Diocesan director appealed to the general body to work unitedly and pray for the success of this great event. The entire general body resolved to gear up the work and work strenuously towards DYC. Alwyn the diocesan president thanked everyone who actively participated in the deliberations. Sr. Nympha D’Souza DLYA led the group in to a concluding prayer with final hymn and blessings the meeting came to an end.
