Fifth National Conference of CCBI Youth Commission at Punjab

8th December, 2017: Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) organized 5th National Conference of CCBI Youth Commission at Gianodaya, in Jalandhar from 5th -7th December 2017. Sixty five youth directors from all over the country gathered together to discuss on strategies to serve the youth of India effectively and to take care the environment our common home. Five youth directors, namely Fr Anil Dsa the RYD, Fr Clevan the DYD of Gulbarga, Fr Ronald Dsouza the DYD of Mangalore, Fr Ronald Veigas the DYD of Shimoga and Fr William Youth animator of Bosco Youth from Karnataka region actively took part in the conference.

Rev Bishop Franco Mulackal the Catholic Bishop of Jalandhar, inaugurating the conference exhorted the youth directors to accompany the youth of India in their struggles and assist them in creating a bright future for themselves and for the country. Rev Fr Stephen Alathara, the Deputy Secretary General of CCBI from Bangalore delivered the key note address. He explained to the gathering the history of church in India and the situation of the youth ministry in India. He exhorted the gathering to be united for the cause of the youth in creating a better world.

The conference had various study sessions, group discussions, panel discussions where young people shared their dreams, aspirations and expectations from the youth directors and the leaders in the church and the society. An effective action plan was prepared to minister the youth effectively.
