HENOSIS 2K23, the Mega Youth Convention organized by MCYM Puttur Diocesan Secretariat, was a remarkable event that brought together around 120 enthusiastic youths, priests, and nuns. The convention took place on May 27th and 28th at Bethany Educational Institutions in Nellyady, hosted by the D.K Region.

The convention kicked off with a vibrant flag hoisting ceremony. MCYM flag was hoisted by KRYC Lady Animator Sr. MagdelenePackianathan, infusing a sense of pride and unity among the participants. Most Rev. H.E Geevarghese Mar Makarios, Chairman of MCYM Puttur diocese, graced the inaugural ceremony with his presence, bestowing his blessings upon the event. Mr. Babith N.V, President, MCYM Puttur diocese presided the Inauguration. Esteemed KRYC President Mr. NevinAntony , assumed the role of the chief guest, accompanied by other ICYM REXCO members like Riva Angel D'Souza, Sr. Magdelene, Deepthi Sophia, Prajwal Lopez, and Terrance Crasta , who were also guests of honor. D.K.Eccl.Dist.Proto-Vicar Fr. Thomas Bijily OIC felicitated the event, adding to the grandeur. During the ceremony, the ICYM REXCO team proudly unveiled the logo of the Green Run Bangalore marathon, a significant initiative of KRYC, under the blessings of H.E Geevarghese Mar Makarios. Following the inauguration, Bishop H.E Geevarghese Mar Makarios engaged in an interactive session with the youths, sharing insights and inspiring them to embrace their potential. Subsequently, Mr. AnupJohn , the MCYM General Secretary of Delhi - Gurgaon Diocese , enlightened the Puttur youths about the mission activities led by Delhi MCYM youths, showcasing the positive impact they had on the mission regions of Delhi Diocese. This informative session motivated the Puttur youths to actively participate in similar mission activities.

The convention also acknowledged the previous diocesan leaders, namely Mr. Vijesh, Mr. Thomas Idayal, and Mr. Joyal M.J, honoring them for their exemplary leadership. Their inspiring words encouraged the youths to take steps towards assuming leadership roles. Additionally, Ms. Deepthi Sophia, aICYM REXCO member and MIJARC ASIA representative, along with MCYM CS General Secretary Mr. Subin Thomas, shared their experiences and words of wisdom, further inspiring the youths. The afternoon session featured a Youth Interaction session led by Mr. Linu Daniel, providing a platform for the youths to engage with one another, share ideas, and foster meaningful connections. Subsequently, a written test-based Quiz on By-law was conducted, challenging the youths' knowledge and comprehension.

To add a touch of entertainment, a screening of the Movie "Exodus: Gods and Kings" was organized, followed by engaging and fun-filled games that encouraged active participation both physically and mentally.
As the evening approached, the You-Cat team from Bangalore conducted a prayer session that offered a unique and refreshing approach to devotion, leaving a lasting impression on the youths. The session was accompanied by the opportunity for confession, allowing the participants to seek spiritual solace.
At night, the stage came alive with outstanding performances by the youths, showcasing their talents and cultural diversity through captivating cultural programs. The day culminated in a musical night where the participants celebrated with utmost joy and enthusiasm.

The Second day of the HENOSIS 2K23 youth convention commenced with a serene Morning Prayer and Holy Qurbana, led by the esteemed Vicar General of Puttur Diocese Rev. Msgr. Fr. EldhoPuthenkandathil, and concelebrated by MCYM Director Fr. Thomas Kallolickal. The spiritual ceremony set a contemplative tone for the day's activities.
Following the Mass, MCYM CS President Mrs. Angel Mary took charge of the session titled MCYM Theme Study. She adeptly elucidated the youths about the MCYM Theme for the year 2023, shedding light on its significance and encouraging the attendees to embrace its essence. In a display of appreciation, the Puttur Diocesan Secretariat honored the MCYM CS team, including President Mrs. Angel Mary, General Secretary Mr. Subin Thomas, and Secretaries Mr. Robin Joseph and Ms. MerinMamachan, in a traditional Karnataka-style felicitation.

The afternoon brought forth a thought-provoking and intellectually stimulating event—the Debate on "Foreign Migration of Educational Youths: A Resource Drain of Our Country." The debate, moderated by Sir Joseph M.J, the Vice-Principal of Jnanodaya Bethany P.U College in Nellyady, proved to be a riveting contest where the participants showcased their analytical skills and knowledge on the subject matter. The debate not only ignited healthy competition but also imparted valuable insights to the attending youths, broadening their understanding of the implications of foreign migration on our nation.

In the afternoon, the convention reached its concluding phase. The Concluding Ceremony was graced by the presence of Vicar General Very Rev. Msgr. Fr. EldhoPuthenkandathil, who chaired the event, and President Mr. Babith N.V, who presided over the proceedings.
Following the Concluding Ceremony, all the enthusiastic youths embarked on a Youth Rally, parading through the streets of Nellyady town. This vibrant display of unity and strength showcased the collective spirit and determination of the youths of Puttur Diocese, leaving a lasting impression on the community.
To bring the event to a close, the convention concluded with a ceremonial lowering of the flag, accompanied by the singing of the Anthem. As the curtain fell on Henosis 2K23, the memories, learnings, and friendships formed during the convention would continue to inspire and shape the lives of the participating youths, as they ventured forth with renewed zeal and purpose.
