Vlogmas Award Ceremony at St Patrick’s Church Bangalore

10 January 2021 : Yuva Chethana the Bangalore Archdiocesan Youth commission organized VLOGMAS Award ceremony on 10 January 2021 at St Patrick’s Church, Bangalore. Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado, the archbishop of Bangalore presided over the function and gave away the awards to the winners of vlogmas (Youth Christmas Video Competition).

The pandemic had not brought down the spirit of the youth of archdiocese in celebrating the Christmas. In addition to celebrating Christmas with usual decorations, carols, crib, Christmas tree etc… this year the youth had an opportunity to video record the youth celebrating Christmas and win cash prizes. Out of many entries 20 youth groups were short listed and awarded prizes. ICYM Nativity Church Vidyaranyapura was the champions in vlogmas 2020 while ICYM St Patrick’s Church, Brigade Road were the runners up. Bosco Youth Provincial House bagged second runner up. The competition was based on quality of video, variety and message. It had also most likes and subscribers as one of the criteria.

The programme kick started through a prayer dance by St Patrick’s youth led by Ms. Benisha. Fr Anil D’sa SDB the youth director of the archdiocese, Fr. Sampath the joint secretary of the youth commission, Mr. Clement the president of the ICYM St Patrick’s church were the dignitaries welcomed by Fr Rajesh the youth director of St Patrick's Church.

The official programme was followed by an informal session for the youth where the youth had an opportunity to express themselves. Being the first physical programme after almost a year about 100 youth from 20 parishes were very much excited and actively took part in the programme. The ICYM Dexco Mr. Sebe Mathew compeered the whole programme along with other Dexcos.
