ICYM – YUVAJANOSTHAVA 2012

Sep. 28: Karnataka Regional Youth convention- “ Yuvajanotsava 2012” was inaugurated at Belthngady on 28th September 2012. Most Rev Dr Lawrence Mukulhy Bishop of Belthangady Hoisted the National Flag, Belthangady Diocese ICYM President Vijesh Hoisted the Papal Flag and the ICYM Regional President Emmanuel Santhosh Hoisted the Yuvajanotsava-2012 flag.

Thereafter the Regional Chairman of Youth Commission Most Rev Dr Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary celebrated the Holy Eucharist concelebrated by Bishops of Belthangady and Puttur and 30 Priests. Bishop Henry in his homily gave a call to the youth gathered to shun the evil habits which hinders their growth. He asked them to make a proper choice in their lives.

In the Inaugural programme Bishop Henry presided over and gave presidential address He said” The youth of today need to be more committed, Compassionate, truthful. We need youth who respect all religions and promote harmony”

The Bishop of Belthangady Mar Lawrence Mukuzhy welcomed all youth and Dignitaries from different dioceses to the Belthangady Diocese ‘The land of light’ He thanked all the volunteers and office bearers of Belthangady diocese and the Regional team. Based on theme of the convention ‘Transformed by faith transforming the world’, Bishop expressed that the youth have to be people of action than merely words.
