15th September,2013: 'Tumi vadthana suknya bori vadizay kashi sukni churukayen vaavurtath tashe tumi vaavurizay’(u must grow up like birds always active & busy) said Fr Anil d'costa the parish priest of katpady addressing the gathering after inaugurating the udupi varado samavesh on 15th September 2013(Sunday) at Vincent de paul church katpadi.The gathering was formally welcomed by Judson montiero the president of katpadi unit & instructed by the youth director Fr Edwin d'souza.

The resource person for the day was Sir Norbert Misquith.In his session of 2 hours from 10:00am to 12:00 noon – he spoke about the basic structure & functions of YCS & conducted funfilled games for recreation in between. At 12:00noon the holy mass was celebrated by Fr Edwin & Fr Anil.

In the afternoon session dance singing & skit compitations were conducted, Mr Leslie Arouza & Mrs Hilda D’souza were the judges of these compitations. Six parishes took active part in the days program. The parishes of udupi & manipal remained absent. The parishes of katpady,moodbelle & perampalli secured first second & third place respectively.The animator of katpadi expressed her gratitude & concluded the program.
