"Quest-2K18" organised by ICYM Ashoknagar Unit at Mangalore

22 January, 2018: It was a memorable day in the history of to organize the inter-parish "Quest 2k18" (Treasure hunt) in St. Dominic Church, Ashoknagar. The registration was opened at 2:45 p.m. At 4:10 p.m. the registration was closed followed by the inauguration at 4:15 p.m. under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Aquin Noronha, the Parish Priest in the presence of Rev. Fr. Praveen Monteiro, the pastoral council vice president and secretary. The inauguration was carried out by releasing balloons and by ceremonial waving of the Flag.

Rules were announced after which clues were handed over to the contestants by ICYM Ashokngar unit President & Treasurer Mr. Jokshith Dsouza and Rupel Gonsalves respectively. The contestants were asked to report the counter of Quest 2k18 by 07.15 p.m.

The Mini fancy fete stalls were opened to the public comprising of food and games stalls meanwhile stage program with Live Band and Dance performances kept entertaining the crowd throughout the event.

Mr. Mohiuddin Bava the member of Legislative assembly (MLA) Mangalore city North constituency presided over the function at 5:40 p.m. and delivered his address to the gathering after which the MLA mingled with the Youth before leaving the venue.

The ICYM Mangalore Diocese Director Rev. Fr. Ronald Dsouza graced us with his presence together with ICYM Episcopal city deanery president Mr . Frenton Irol Dsouza

Mr. J R Lobo presided over the function at 07:30 p.m. He delivered a motivational address directed at the Youth to take more interest in Govt. Jobs and to concentrate to clean the small area accessible to us if not the entire world.

The valedictory function started at 08:15 p.m. A formal short stage program was held. The stage was presided over by chief guest Rev. Fr. Ronald Dsouza, guest of honor Mr. Frenton Irol Dsouza, the ICYM director Rev. Fr. Aquin Noronha, Rev. Fr. Praveen Monteiro, Church Pastoral Council Vice President Mr. Richard Gonsalves, ICYM Ashoknagar President and secretary Mr. Jokshith Dsouza and Mr. Vinol Pinto respectively.

The result of Quest 2k18 was announced. The champions of the Quest 2K18 were “The Angelore team”. The other winners with their respective trophies and cash prizes were awarded by the dignitaries. The program ended at 9 p.m.
