Yuva Chethana

17th July, 2017: Yuva Chethana the Diocesan Youth Commission of Gulbarga organized a leadership training programme for the ICYM animators and the office bearers, from 1 to 2nd July 2017 at Orbit, Humnabad. 55 ICYM office bearers and animators participated in the programme. The Training Programme began with the inauguration, Rev. Fr. Victor Vas, former DYD and Manager of the Sacred Heart School, Talikote, Mr Kamal Francis and Mr Ebin from YSM National office, Chennai inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp, in his speech he called the youth to use their energy for the constructive purpose. They need to help each other to come up in their lives. They need to use their energy to build their families and also the Catholic Church. After the supper, there was a panel discussion conducted by the DEXCO members where the youth shared their concerns. Meantime, the animators had a separate session on “How to deal with the youth” which was facilitated by Fr Anil Crasta, Director, Orbit, Humnabad.

On the second day, Most Rev. Robert Michael Miranda the Bishop of Gulbarga presided over the Eucharistic Celebration. After the mass he asked the office bearers from different parish about their concerns. Later he made them realize where they have to focus on. He invited the youth to strengthen ICYM units in the centre level. He told youth leaders that there are lots of government facilities for our people and youth have to help them to get those facilities. The first talk was on family which was given by Mr David which he spoke about how the youth should support the families. It was followed by as session on ICYM by Fr Anil D’Sa SDB, it was interactive and the youth were motivated to live by the values of the movement.

DEXCO of Gulbarga Diocese conducted the group discussion on Synod Questionnaire. The Zonal programme dates were fixed and zonal animators names were announced;

1. August 10, 2017- Bhalki Basavakalyan- Fr Joseph Praveen, Zonal Animator
2. August 17, 2017- Gulbarga Zone- Fr Gerald Sagar, Zonal Animator
3. August 25, 2017- Bidar Aurad Zone- Fr Sunil Andrade, Zonal Animator
4. September 2, 2017- Humnabad Zone- Dn Lawrence, Zonal Animator

The DEXCO members felicitated Fr Anil DSa SDB. Sr Oliva the lady animator, in her vote of thanks encouraged the youth to be strong. The Programme came to an end through a prayer lead by Fr Clevan Gomes the DYD.
