“Athlos Arena 2024” the ICYM Diocesan Level Sports Meet, 2024

The Udupi Diocese’s ICYM youth witnessed a thrilling display of teamwork and healthy competition at Karkala Deanery’s “Athlos Arena” sports meet on November 1 st , 2024. Inaugurated by Fr. Steevan Fernandes, the ICYM diocesan director, the chief guest and national-level netball player Ms. Jasmine Maria, and the ICYM Karnataka General Secretary Ms. Ashley D’Souza. Shirva deanery emerged as the overall champions, while Kalianpur deanery securing runner-up. Dignitaries Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Fr. Larry Pinto, Mr. Godwin Mascarenhas Mr. Joston D’Silva, and Mr. Mecnel Rodrigues presided over the valedictory ceremony. Individual athletic events and deanery-level competitions offered an ideal platform for the emerging young talents. Winners received trophies and felicitations for their athletic performances, celebrating youthful talent, supporting teammates, and maintaining a competitive spirit.
