MIJARC Karnataka is the regional unit of the Mouvement International de la Jeunesse Agricole et Rurale Catholique (MIJARC), which translates to the International Movement of Catholic Agricultural and Rural Youth.
MIJARC is a global Catholic youth movement dedicated to empowering rural and agricultural youth through faith formation, leadership development, social action, and sustainable development initiatives.
Established in Karnataka in 2004, MIJARC Karnataka became affiliated with the Karnataka Regional Youth Commission (KRYC). Since its inception, the movement has been committed to organizing, educating, and empowering young people from rural communities across the dioceses of Karnataka.
Under the leadership and guidance of Rev. Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, Director, MIJARC Karnataka continues to inspire and empower rural youth to become responsible leaders, active citizens, and agents of positive social transformation.
Supporting this mission are the Regional Coordinators, Mr. Johnviston Dias and Ms. Rishal Dsouza, who facilitate the planning, coordination, and implementation of the movement's programmes and initiatives across Karnataka.
Rooted in Gospel values and inspired by Catholic Social Teaching, MIJARC Karnataka addresses the social, economic, environmental, cultural, and spiritual needs of rural youth, fostering holistic development and strengthening their role in building sustainable communities.
