Agro-Ecology & Young Change maker
The KRCBC-Youth Commission, in collaboration with MIJARC Asia, began its second phase project “Agro-Ecology and Change Maker” on 16th July 2023 at St Francis Assisi Church, Kallathipura, in the Diocese of Chikmagalur. The programme began at 11. 00 am. There were 63 parishioners in attendance.Fr. Lourd Raj the Regional Youth Director, Fr. George Fernandes the Diocesan youth director, Fr. Paul Machado the parish Priest and Deepthi Sophia the MIJARC Coordinator Karnataka were the Chief Guests for the programme. Fr. Lourd Raj in his presidential address exclaimed the initiatives in which the parish had partnered with the Regional team. He expressed his gratitude to Deepthi and the parish priest Fr. Paul Machado, for their ongoing support and genuine interest in working with MIJARC Asia.

Ms.Deepthi the facilitator, led the participants in a number group exercises and asked them to draw the village’s agro-ecological environment,the food cycle system and how eachis responsible forbringing about changes in society. The participants were given sufficient time to realize and meditate upon nature and the steps that needed to be taken to preserve it for the future generations. Fr. Paul Machado offered a vote of appreciation to close the programme at 1.15 p.m.Thereafter, lunch was served to all the participants.
