ICYM

ICYM Karnataka is the regional chapter of the Indian Catholic Youth Movement functioning under the guidance of the Karnataka Regional Youth Commission. It brings together Catholic youth from the Latin Rite dioceses across Karnataka, empowering them to become active leaders in the Church and society.

Guided by its motto, “To Lead, To Serve, To Shine,” ICYM Karnataka focuses on the holistic development of young people through faith formation, leadership, social action, and community engagement.

Vision
To build a renewed society rooted in faith, hope, and love by empowering Catholic youth to become responsible leaders and agents of positive change.

Mission
To inspire and empower youth through Gospel values by promoting leadership, service, employment opportunities, social responsibility, and personal growth while fostering respect for all people irrespective of caste, creed, or religion.

Core Objectives
● Faith Formation: Strengthen the spiritual lives of youth and deepen their relationship with Christ.
● Leadership Development: Equip young people with leadership skills to serve the Church and society.
● Social Action: Encourage active participation in social, environmental, and community development initiatives.
● Fellowship and Inclusivity: Foster unity, collaboration, and dialogue among youth from diverse backgrounds.

How ICYM Karnataka Operates
ICYM Karnataka functions through a structured network that connects youth from the grassroots to the national level:
● Parish/Unit Level: Youth groups are formed within individual parishes.
● Deanery Level: Parish units collaborate through deanery-level activities and programs.
● Diocesan Level: Each diocese has a Diocesan Executive Committee that coordinates initiatives across the diocese.
● Regional Level: The ICYM Karnataka Regional Executive Committee oversees programs, leadership formation, and coordination among all dioceses in Karnataka.
● National Level: ICYM Karnataka is affiliated with the CCBI Youth Commission through the national ICYM structure.

Through this framework, ICYM Karnataka organizes leadership camps, faith formation programs, social outreach activities, environmental initiatives, youth conventions, advocacy campaigns, and community service projects across the state.

Today, ICYM Karnataka unites thousands of young people from all dioceses of Karnataka, empowering them to live their faith actively and contribute meaningfully to society.
