EKTHAAR 2024–YCS Convention

The Udupi diocese Youth Convention, Ekthaar 2024, was held on 17th November 2024, at the Mount Rosary Millennium Hall in Kallianpur. The event began with a thought-provoking session on the importance of spirituality, led by Fr. Denis D’Sa, for the 650 participants from different units. His engaging talk was followed by a quiz competition which tested the participants’ knowledge. During the Holy mass, Fr. Denis D’Sa emphasized the significance of YCS, parents and the spirituality in shaping the lives of the young people. The exciting competitions drew loud cheers from the crowd. The talented youth Joshwa Fernandes and Ms Meghan Diya compared the program. Fr. Roque D’Souza addressed the role of youth as future pillars of the society and parishes. A special commemoration was held to mark the 75th birthday of Rt. Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, the Bishop of Udupi Diocese, who addressed the youth, stressing the importance of their role in civil services and their potential to positively influence the society. The convention concluded by the YCS anthem, Baila Dance, and with the fond memories of the Ekthaar 2024 had brought to the young Catholic Students.
