Udupi Diocese

The traditional Gumta (instrument) training programme held by YCS/YSM of Udupi diocese on October 18 at Anugraha , pastoral centre was a resounding success, celebrating Konkani culture, and providing a platform for 120 students to enhance their Gumta skills and knowledge. Jasmine Lobo and Jenvita Lobo graced the occasion as the chief guests and resource persons.
The programme commenced with a grand inauguration ceremony, where students, trainers, and distinguished guests gathered to mark the beginning of the training. The chief guests, Jasmine Lobo and Jenvita Lobo, officially inaugurated the event, setting a positive tone for the day. After the training programme students gave a wonderful performance by singing gumta songs.

Certificates were distributed to all 120 students who had completed the training programme. The certificates served as a testament to their commitment and the knowledge gained during the program. This recognition was a source of pride for both the students and their families.
Guidance and support of Diocesan YCS/YSM director Rev FrStevanFernandes was instrumental in the successful execution of the event. His presidential speech encouraged the attendees to make the best use of the opportunity and celebrate and preserve the culture

Nikith Castelino , the president of YCS/YSM Udupi diocese, welcomed the gathering, Jesvita Lobo, diocesan YCS secretary proposed the vote of thanks.. Anson Nazareth, the national YCS/YSM president, was an active contributor to the programme. Evisha D mello, serving as the regional representative, actively engaged in the programme.Jesvita, in her role as the secretary, extended gratitude with a well-articulated vote of thanks. Furthermore, the seamless flow of the program was ensured by the capable comperes, Delina and Riyon, who guided the audience through the various segments of the event.
