The Election of the New National Team (NEXCO)

The 7th National council as well as election was hosted by Bareily diocese, at Suchethana Centre, Kathgodam from 22-24 January 2024. The presence of the National executive Secretary Fr. Chethan Machado, Judy Antony, RYD’s, and RYLA’s from various regions added significance to the occasion. The chairman bishop Rt. Rev Dr. Ignatius D’souza Bishop of Bareily emphasized the importance as well as mammoth contribution that youth need to give to the church and society as well. Considering the present situation he urged the youth to voice out for justice. The various agenda items were debated and amendments were suggested in the copuncil. The annual calendar and yearly programs underwent thorough review, while the General Secretary of the NEXCO presented the annual report, and the National Tresurer delivered the financial report. National Director Fr. Chethan Machado provided guidelines and a memorandum, offering a clear explanation of the election norms ahead of the Election Day. The RYD’s introduced the regional representatives, leading up to the election of the new team and the oath taking process. Following the elections, members from the Karnataka and Telugu regions travelled for a different adventurous sightseeing trip before returning to their respective regions.
