MCYM – The Diocese of Puttur
VISION
Hosted by the Bangalore Region, the MCYM Puttur Diocese, conducted an enlightening program on understanding the Catholic Church perspective and knowing LGBTQ+ Identities, at St. Joseph’s Malankara Catholic Church in Mathikere on 19th June 2024. The proceedings began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. The program included esteemed speakers, including Fr. Sheen Thankalayam, Rev. Fr. Subin Polackal, Ahana Mekhal and Astha Kallarikal, who shared valuable insights on LGBTQ+ identity history and challenges. The discussions highlighted catholic inclusivity and acceptance. The event explored the catholic faith and LGBTQ+ identities to nurture understanding and create a deeper appreciation for diverse identities. The MCYM Puttur’s initiative fuelled openness and understanding through dialogue. Active engagement and openness are enriched with greater awareness and empathy for the most vulnerable and the least accepted of the society.
