ICYM Mangalore Diocesan Youth Conference

Inspired by the theme, “Let’s walk in the path of Christ and Build a serving society,” the ICYM Central Council Mangalore Diocese in collaboration with ICYM Belthangady Deanery and Unit, organized the 11 th Diocesan Youth Conference, from October 10-13, 2024, at the Holy Redeemer Church Campus, Belthangady. Bishop Emeritus Rt. Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza inspired the 300 youth with his message: “You are the nation's future, dream of future goals and strive for a good name in the society.” The event commenced with the “Vojem Procession,” hoisting the DYC flag, and unveiling the Logo. The guests urged the youth for peace and creativity, and to apply the learning of the conference in their lives. The second day began with a drone shoot, followed by sessions on the bible, You Cat, marriage and Cannon law, including Nihan Sequeira’s sharing of his experience of Communio in Arunachal Pradesh. On the third day, The Zumba led by Viola Reshma Lewis, the exposure visits to ten different locations, experience sharing of exposure visits, an organ donation talk by the KMC hospital team, and the last day, a lively panel on skill development, and the diverse talent showcase highlighted the cultural program. Msgr. Maxim L. Noronha presided over the valedictory ceremony, emphasizing the role of youth in building a strong community through service. The program concluded with gratitude to benefactors followed by the singing of the ICYM theme song.
