The DEXCO Celebrates “Vanamahotsav” with Plant & Protect a Tree" Initiative

The ICYM Udupi Diocese Central Council celebrated” Vanamahotsav” week from 1st – 7th July 2024, with a remarkable initiative titled "Plant & Protect a Tree." This initiative attracted 15 members, including the director, Rev. Fr Steven Fernandes, who actively participated in planting trees at their homes and committing to their long-term care and protection. He said,” Trees are important to our ecosystem, and by planting and caring for them, we create a greener and healthier environment.” Throughout the week, two members each day took action to plant trees. Photos were shared on social media across the diocese and region. To inspire dedication and encourage the youth about the importance of environmental conservation, by caring for our planet. The council received positive feedback for promoting environmental awareness and action, sharing the message far and wide. The ICYM Udupi Diocese Central Council witnessed the power of collective action in nurturing nature, and the role of the youth in driving sustainable change.
