YCS Karkala Deanery Beginner’s Camp – 2024

The Karkala Deanery Beginner’s Camp was held on July 28, 2024, at Maria Goretti Church Hall, Hirgan, Udupi, drew 90 students, seeking spiritual growth and leadership development. Chris Dantis’ warm welcome, Fr. Walter Mendonca’s inspiring address, Fr. Larry Pinto motivating message, pulled up the spirit for a transformative day. Swedal Mendonca played effective role for building bridges, while Melwyn Castelino shared YCS history and significance. The sessions by Joshua Fernandes, Jiya Cutinho, Melisha Noronha, Preethal D’Mello, and Fr. Steven Fernandes equipped students with Knowledge on YCS structure, vision, aims, rules, objectives, and methodology. Before the camp concluded, the participants expressed their gratitude to the facilitators. The YCS anthem empowered the young leaders to reflect Jesus teachings. This sparked a desire for self-transformation, leading to a ripple effect in others.
