Saverapura ICYM unites parishioners under 'Kutma Fest -2017'

11th September, 2017: Saverapura ICYM united parishioners under one umbrella titled 'Kutma Fest - 2017' on the evening of Sunday, Sept 10, 2017. The feast of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary was celebrated worldwide on Sept 8.

Dignitaries present on the dias were Parish Priest - Rev. Fr. Rakesh Mathias, Redemptorist Priest Rev. Fr. Franklin Lobo, Parish Vice-president Vincent DSouza , Secretary Severine Crasta, ICYM animator Ligory Crasta and ICYM President Gladson Rodrigues.

The programme began with prayer by ICYM members. Programme was inaugurated in a unique way wherein ICYM members brought candles in the dark and later dignitaries lighted the lamp and wished this light may bring happiness in future. New corn mixed with milk was blessed by the priests. Family heads were honoured with flowers by parish priest upholding importance of families in the Catholic Church. Naveen DSouza was honoured for his role in Deanery as ICYM Secretary.

ICYM President Gladson welcomed the gathering and secretary Glawin proposed vote of thanks. Martin Rodrigues compered the program. Various Games were conducted to entertain the gathering.

At the end of the programme, everybody enjoyed the traditional authentic Novenm Jevaan and delicious Vorn prepared by the parishioners. Novenm Jevaan was also sent to the homes of Elders and sick who couldn’t attend the programme. This unique family union highlighted the theme of Monti Fest in the right way.
