9th ICYM National Council

Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) India organised the 9th ICYM National Council, from February 15th to 17th, 2025 at the Pallotine Animation Centre, Nagpur, Maharashtra. Ten regional directors, presidents, secretaries, CCBI Commission members, and ICYM National team members attended the event. Fr. Lourd Raj, Vileena Gonsalves, Ashley D’Souza, Supriya Varghese, Akwil Fernandes, and Anson Nazareth represented the Karnataka Region. During the Council, the participants evaluated and reviewed the National Youth Conference held in Jalandhar, in 2024 and discussed the future role and direction of the ICYM. Regional directors presented the reports, sharing challenges and successes. The team visited St. Francis Xavier Cathedral and Lourd Matha Mandhir in Nagpur and participated in an enriching session on “Catholic Connect” led by Mr. Abhishek. The Council members also had an opportunity to meet the national chairman bishop, Most Rev. Dr. Ignatius D’Souza and visit “Yuvagram,” a property of the CCBI Youth Commission. The concluding Eucharistic celebration at Nagpur Pallotine House provided a source of grace for the youth. The event served as an engaging and insightful platform for youth leaders to discuss the future of ICYM, its role in the community, and the organizations way forward.
