Diocese of Gulbarga
A Program on Future Focus
Humnabad, May 10, 2025 — Yuvachethana, the youth wing of the Diocese of Gulbarga, organized an
impactful Career Guidance Program at ORBIT, Humnabad, drawing the participation of 37 enthusiastic
youth from various mission centres.
The event was graced by Most Rev. Dr. Robert Miranda, Bishop of Gulbarga, who addressed the
gathering with deep concern for young people’s future. He highlighted the Diocese’s financial aid
initiatives for needy students and stressed the importance of pursuing job-oriented courses such as ITI
and vocational training, especially for students who find academic studies challenging. “The goal is not
merely degrees, but employability and self-reliance,” the Bishop remarked.
Fr. Roshan D’Souza, Director of Premavani Communications, enlightened the participants on the
relevance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in today’s job market. He introduced various AI tools that enhance
learning and job readiness, emphasising how technology can secure employment opportunities for the
youth. Fr. Wilson Fernandes gave a comprehensive overview of the diverse streams of education
available to students today, including science, commerce, arts, and vocational paths. He encouraged
youth to explore their strengths, interests, and God-given talents while choosing a career path.
The session was well-coordinated and creatively organized by Fr. Sachin Christy, who ensured that the
day was both informative and interactive. The resource persons also led discussions and activities that
helped the youth identify their interests and set practical goals for their future. This Career Guidance
Program was a timely step towards empowering the young minds of the diocese and equipping them
with the knowledge and tools to shape a bright and meaningful future.
