ICYM and YCSYSM Joint meeting

The diocesan Youth commission organized a joint meeting with the Dexco members of both ICYM and YCS/YSM to discuss upcoming events, responsibilities and various diocesan initiatives, on 2nd November 2025 at YuvaMitra, Shimoga. At 10.00 am, Rev. Fr. Franklin D’Souza, the Diocesan Youth Director, offered Holy Eucharist for the departed youth of the diocesan Shimoga. In his homily he highlighted the importance of the gift of life and encouraged everyone to nurture life through faith and prayer. He expressed deep sentiments for the young people who lost their lives due to various circumstances and prayed especially for the departed youth of the diocese.

The meeting commenced with a hymn to the Holy spirit and ICYM president Mr. Suhas Martin welcomed all the members present. Joint secretary Mr. Stephen Lobo Presented the minutes of the previous meeting. President Mr. Suhas Martin led the discussions based on the following agenda: 1. Elections: ICYM and YCSYSM 2025, 2. Christmas: Yuva Taare 2025, 3. Yuva Sourabha 2025, 4. Yuva Keerthi Award 2025, 5. JAGO program by Jesus Youth from 28 December 2025 – 31st December 2025, 6. Communio, 7. Aicuf, 8. Moggu – Diocesan Youth Magazine, 9. Sharing by Dexco and DTS members.

Rev. Fr. Franklin D’Souza offered valuable guidance to the leaders, emphasizing responsibility, and dedication to their calling as youth leaders in the diocese. Apart from the Dexco and DTS members. Sr. Ophilia and animator Mr. Gagan Raj were also present for the meeting. The meeting concluded with a fellowship lunch, marking the end of a fruitful and well – coordinated gathering.
