Unity Prayer for the Nation

On the occasion of India's 77th Republic Day, on January 26th, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, youth gathered in a spirit of unity along with Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, and Christian leaders and representatives, standing together as one nation in prayer. The interfaith prayer hour sought God’s grace for peace, harmony and the holistic progress of our country. The gathering was graced by the presence of eminent religious leaders: Shree Jayabasavaananda Swamiji of Chikkamagluru, representing the Hindu faith; Ms Halima Sadiya, Work Organization Secretary, representing the Muslim Community; Br. Royster Monis S.J, Scholastic from the Christian community, and Mr Shubham, representing the Buddhist Community. Their presence beautifully reflected the rich diversity and shared values of the nation. All the leaders were warmly welcomed by the outgoing ICYM regional president, Ms Vileena Gonsalves. The Program was organised by the KRCBC Youth Commission, under the leadership of Regional Youth Director Fr. Ashwin Cardoza, and coordinated by Fr. Vinay Kumar, the Secretary for Interfaith Dialogue and Regional Liturgy Secretary, who facilitated the participation of the religious leaders. The RYLA Sr. Molly also attended the one-hour online prayer gathering. The youth participated enthusiastically, coming together in faith and fraternity, making the unity prayer a meaningful expression of togetherness, national integrity and shared hope for India’s future.
