REPORT ON LIAISON - A P.R.O TRAINING PROGRAM

On February 25, 2024 - ICYM Udupi Diocese conducted a Workshop LIAISON for all unit's and deanery's PRO of the diocese. The resource person was Rev. Fr Anil Fernandes - Director of Canara communication, Diocese of manglore. He was introduced by DYD Rev. Fr Steven Fernandes and welcomed by ICYM Udupi Diocese's PRO Mr. Playson Dsouza.

Fr Anil started with an introduction of what a PRO means exactly. He explained the importance of tying up with local media organisations and organising an event, which increases the value of the event even more. After the event, the Host PRO should send a brief report & some pictures to these media organisations so that they can publish it the very next day. He described how to write a letter to the news editors. He also gave a brief introduction regarding all AI tools, design tools, and language converter tools. Fr Anil explained how to use tools like ChatGPT and what kind of prompt we need to put in it to get the press release He explained how to use Canva to create posters, flyers, and invitations.

Also, he showed how to create websites using Google Sites. More importance was given to using Social Media to promote and publish events and information about ICYM. He urged the PROs to reach the audience outside the diocese. The young PROs actively took part and learned many important things from the resource person. Overall, it was a meaningful and much-needed training program.
