YCS/YSM Karnataka Region elects new office bearers for the year 2025-2027.

Mangalore, December 16, 2025: The Karnataka Regional YCS/YSM organized a two-day program at the Divine Call Centre, Mulki, on December 13 and 14, 2025. This was hosted by the Diocese of Udupi.

On the 13th, leaders from various dioceses convened at 9 a.m. at DCC Mulki. The first session, "What is YCS YSM," was led by Mr. Vance Rion D'Souza, former vice president of YCS/YSM Karnataka, and Mr. Rohan Danny, former Udupi Diocesan YCS leader.

The afternoon session was led by Mr. Anson Nazareth, National President of YCS/YSM. He focused on YCS/YSM methodology and cell meetings. Afterward, elections were conducted. The election process was overseen by Regional Youth Director Fr. Ashwin Cardoza, Regional YCS/YSM President Ms. Jesvita D'Souza, Regional Youth Animator Sr. Molly, and election officer Fr. Stephen Fernandes, who serves as the Diocesan Youth Director of Udupi.

Here are the new folks elected:
1. Regional President: Alister Clinton Fernandes - Mangalore
2. Regional Vice President: K. Rithika George - Bangalore
3. Regional Secretary: Christopher D'Costa - Belgaum
4. Regional Student Formation Coordinator (SFC): Olga Jeevitha D'Mello - Udupi
5. Regional Social Cause Coordinator: Melvin Immanuel D'Cunha - Shivamogga
6. Regional Media Secretary: Daison Pranjal Lobo - Mysuru

The YCS/YSM Council Meeting was convened on the 14th at 9 AM, with Ms. Jesvita D'Souza presiding. Discussions focused on various regional initiatives for YCS/YSM, and the Council resolved to bolster the movement within the region. The two-day program culminated with a Holy Eucharist led by Fr. Franklin D'Souza, Diocesan YCS/YSM Chaplain of the Diocese of Shimoga. The oath-taking ceremony was conducted by Regional Youth Director Fr. Ashwin Cardoza. The meeting concluded after lunch.

Representatives from seven dioceses, namely Mangalore, Udupi, Mysore, Gulbarga, Bangalore, Shivamogga, and Belgaum, were present . The chaplains in attendance included Fr. Maria (Mysore), Fr. Roshan D'Cunha (Mangalore), Fr. Steven Fernandes (Udupi), and Fr. Franklin (Shivamogga).
