DELTA Program Unites Youth Leaders Across Coastal Diocese
The Indian Catholic Youth Movement in Karnataka successfully hosted “The Delta program” at Augraha Pastoral Centre, Udupi, on August 17-18, 2024. This pioneering initiative launched with a lively and solemn inaugural ceremony presided over by the honourable presence of Rt. Rev. Dr. Isaac Lobo, Bishop Udupi Isaac Lobo, the regional Director Fr. Lourd Raj, other dignitaries, and youth leaders. The placing of the five diocesan name posters on the ship, as a representation of each diocese, symbolized unity as a powerful gesture that set the tone for the entire program. In his inaugural speech, Rt. Rev.Dr. Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi, urged the youth to take active roles in politics and entrepreneurship. Fr. Sudeep Paul, the regional secretary and director for Sandesha Foundation, emphasised the impact and encouraged the youth leaders to use media responsibly. The event had another lively animation by Fr. Charles Menezes, who led an engaging session on leadership, involving full participation of the youth leadership, leaving a lasting impression. A debate on current issues like inter-caste marriage and AI vs. NI sparked interesting discussions. The youth shared their thoughts revealing a need for a better understanding to make informed choices and build successful marriages. The final portion of the gathering was marked by feedback, a valedictory session and a sincere vote of thanks by Ashley D’Souza, wrapping up a productive and unforgettable event on a high note.
