Youth Enhancement Programme

The Regional team organized one day Youth enhancement Programme to the youth of Mysore dioceses on 20 th Feb 2021 at Catholic centre Bannimantap in Mysore. Around 150 youth gathered in Auditorium at 9.45 am for the programme. Rt Rev. Dr William Bishop of Mysore, Fr. Lourd Raj, the regional youth director, Fr. Thomas Baros the diocesan youth director, Sr Jessy Rita RYLA, the regional president Mr Jaison, diocesan president Mr Pascal and special guest Miss. Jesvita Quadros member of advisory body Vatican YCS & YSM were present for the inauguration. Fr. Lourd Raj addressed the youth to become an inspiration to one another to draw them closer towards the church. Ms Jesvita gave them four keywords: opportunity, Inspiration, accompaniment, grateful which every young people should remember in their lives. In the Keynote Address Bishop of Mysore Diocese, Most Rev Dr KA William called on the youth as ‘power’, and urged them to make use of the technology for the betterment not for destroying themselves.

Quoting the ‘seven habits of highly effective teens, Rev. Fr Richard Menezes OCD called on the youth for a change in attitudes and character. Local resource persons Fr Jinto and Fr Manoj Manuel D’Souza the diocesan priests spoke on physical health and psychological health issues with the youth and called on the youth to attend to timely counselling if in need.

In the noon Rexco team took up the session with the youth and emphasized to them that building a team among the youth strengthens one another to achieve more goals.

The youth of Mysore were exuberant in their participation in the day’s get- together.
