ICYM Bannur Unit organizes Children’s Day celebration

11th November, 2018: “The greatest gifts you can give your children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence" with this saying ICYM Bannur Unit organized Children’s Day celebration on 11th November 2018 at St. Anthony’s Church, Bannur. The day began with the Holy Eucharistic celebration which was celebrated by Rev Fr. Rithesh Rodrigues – Professor, St. Philomena College, Puttur as a special offering mass for all the children of Bannur parish. After the mass, all the Children and ICYM members gathered in the church hall for a short programme. Rev Fr. Rithesh Rodrigues, Rev Fr. Prashanth Fernandes - Parish Priest, St. Anthony’s Church, Bannur along with Inas Gonsalves - Vice President and Wilma Gonsalves – Secretary, Parish Pastoral Council, Bannur were the dignitaries present on the dais.

The programme commenced with the prayer and the dignitaries inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Noel Ivan Pias – President, ICYM Bannur Unit welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering. The dignitaries addressed the gathering with the few words. Melida Dsouza - Member proposed the vote of thanks, Calin Dsouza and Austin Menezes compered the programme.

Soon after the formal programme, ICYM members conducted activities and games to all the Children, Rev. Fr Rithesh Rodrigues gave a special talk addressing the Children. All the dignitaries were honoured with a rose and a memento as a token of respect. Special lunch was arranged as a part of this occasion. It was a very cheerful day for all the children of Bannur Parish.
