ICYM Ujire unit organizes Blood Donation and Free Medical Checkup Camp

7th October, 2018 : ICYM Ujire unit organised Blood Donation and Free Medical Checkup Camp on Sunday 7 th October 2018 at St. Antony Church Ujire in collaboration with Parish Associations Ujire, Capuchin Krishika Seva Kendra Vimukthi Belthangady, Shri Dharmasthala Rural Development Ujire unit, Fr. Mullers Hospital Mangalore and Thumbay. The programme began with a prayer song led by ICYM members. The programme was presided over by Rev Fr James Dsouza - Parish Priest St Antony Church, Ujire along with Rev Fr Vinod Mascarenhas - Director Capuchin Krishika Seva Kendra, Rev Fr Uday Joseph Fernandes - Principal Anuragha Educational Institutions, Ujire, Dr Kiran Shetty – Fr Mullers Hospital, Jayakar Shetty - Planning Commissioner Shri Dharmasthala Rural Development Ujire unit, Sister Cecilia Dsouza S.M.I Convent Ujire, Arun Rebello - Vice President and Valerian Rodrigues - Secretary Parish Pastoral Council, Ujire, Richard Dsouza - President and Severine Veigas - Secretary St Vincent De Paul Sabha Ujire Unit, Prashanth Lobo - President and Vinitha Carlo - Secretary ICYM Ujire Unit were the dignitaries present on the dias.

Rev Fr James Dsouza welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr Roshan Crasta inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp along with the other dignitaries. Rev. Fr Roshan Crasta enlightened the gathering on the importance of blood donation. The camp began at 10am and continued till 1.30 pm. Many ICYM members from Ujire unit donated blood in turn inspiring others to do the same. Total of 67 donors donate blood. Juice and apple were provided to all the donors. Youths of ICYM Ujire unit have worked hard to be a helping hand towards the needy as well for the success of this event. The blood donation camp received appreciation from all thus turned out to be a successful event.
