Karnataka Teens Meet (KTM) 2017
Jesus Youth; Karnataka Teens Meet, 2017 was conducted at St. Matthias School, Mysore from 4th May to 7th May 2017. 210 teenagers and 70 volunteers from different regions of Karnataka came together for this beautiful celebration of God’s love. The bible verse guiding the meet throughout was “Ask and it shall be given; Seek and you shall find; Knock and it shall be opened;” Mathew 7:7. The program was kick started on 4th May evening with registrations followed by a solomn welcome.
The programme was officially inaugurated on 5th May, 2017 by Fr. Anthony Raj the DYD of Mysore diocese. He was the Chief Guest for the programme. The day’s theme was “Seek and you shall find” and was intended to cover input sessions on topics like Self – Identity and Knowing God along with group activities focused on the day’s topic. The intention was to let children seek their purpose and be aware of how loved they are by God. The Holy Mass that day was celebrated by His Grace Most. Rev. Bishop Willam Antony K
6th May was guided by the theme “Knock and it shall be opened” with the focus on understanding what stands between them and their God and how to be able to overcome these struggles. The topics of sessions were on Sin, Repentance and Jesus the Healer. These sessions were supported with beautiful and reflective group sessions and Skits to help children understand the sessions in a practical way. The day included children preparing and going for the sacrament of confession followed by a Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Anthony Raj. The day ended with a beautiful time of Adoration guiding children to seek Jesus’s Healing in their lives.
The theme on 7th May was “Ask and it shall be given” focused on helping them be aware of the beautiful gift, the Holy Spirit and how asking His help at all times will help them always to bear good fruits at all times. Personal sharing on Mother Mary and group activities on Saints were additional inputs given to help them reflect on how they could lead a Holy life in future. This was followed by a panel sharing by young Jesus Youth leaders on how they were able to sustain in their spiritual life and what helps them. The program concluded with a Holy Mass celebrated by Most. Rev. Bishop Antony Valzapalli and Fr. Anil D’sa SDB, Karnataka Regional Youth Commission Secretary.

The feedback we received from children in written included their beautiful experience during adoration and confession. Many found the Music, Group activities and the Skits very engaging and helpful in experiencing God’s love.
