ICYM – Casia of Mangalore Dioceses Organises “Red Drop Cascia - 2K18”

22 January 2018: “Your tear drops cannot save a life, but your blood drops can". Taking this above quotation as an inspiration, Members of ICYM Cascia Unit in association with Fr. Muller's Blood Bank, Mangalore organized Blood Donation Camp with the theme name " Red Drop Cascia - 2K18 " Under ICYM Blood Account, on Account of 68th Indian Republic Day on 21st January 2018 from 9:15 am to 1:30 pm at St. Rita Church Cascia Hall.

President for the programme was Rev. Fr. Harold Mascarenhas - Parish Priest, St. Rita Church, Cascia. Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Ronald Prakash DSouza, Ajekar - Director, ICYM Central Council, Mangalore Diocese and Special Guests were Rev. Fr. Rupesh Madtha - Resident Priest of Cascia Parish as well Diocesan YCS Director, Mangalore Diocese, ICYM Central Council Mangalore Diocesan General Secretary - Mr. Joel Immanuel Concessao, Milagres, Mr. Jossy Theodore - Vice President, Parish Pastoral Council, St Rita Church Cascia, Mr. Subhash - President, Cascia Old Students Association, Mangaluru, Dr. Liza Dsouza from Fr Muller's Hospital were present for the programme. Ms. Vishma Dcunha, President, ICYM Cascia Unit welcomed the gathering and also guests were florally welcomed by the members of ICYM Cascia Unit to the programme. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp to attain Divine Grace. Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Ronald Prakash Dsouza in his ceremonial speech stressed on the importance of blood donation and other socially relevant causes.

Rev. Fr. Harold Mascarenhes felicitated Rev. Fr. Ronald Prakash Dsouza and Mr. Subhash with a memento as a token of love and gratitude. Ms. Vishma DCunha thanked all the guests and to all those who helped in putting up this event successfully and compered the formal programme. The Event was a highly successful one over 60 units of blood was collected at the camp and the rest were invited directly to the hospital to donate due to lack of time. The entire event was systematically arranged by the members of ICYM Cascia Unit as well by the staff of Fr. Muller's who were able to collect maximum units which would in turn save lives.
