ICYM Madanthyar Unit helps Sonandur villagers in constructing temporary mud barrier

29th November, 2018: ICYM Madanthyar unit in collaboration with St Joseph Ward organized a programme of constructing a temporary mud barrier to a stream that passes through Sonandur village, Kolpedabail, Madanthyar on 29th November. The motive of constructing the barrier was to store sufficient water, which helps the agriculturists residing besides the river during the water scarcity.

The villagers are involved in various agricultural activities and they require sufficient water in the summer season. Keeping this in mind, ICYM members along with the villagers organized a unique programme which would help the villagers in their routine. Rev Fr Basil Vas - Parish Priest, Rev Fr Alwyn Dsouza - Assistant Parish Priest, Sacred Heart Church, Madanthyar and Dr. Joseph N.M – Novelist, Sacred Heart College were present on the day.
